Description:The 2 acres park is located on the east side of Main Street between 81st (Houston Street) and 91st (Washington Street) across the street from Central Park. Within the park is a sculpture of Colonel Ernest Childers, who was born in Broken Arrow, and was the first Native American to receive the Congressional Medal of Honor during WWII. The "American Patriot" statue is of Major William H. (Hank) Miesner, Jr., a 1957 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. He retired from active duty in 1987. Major Miesner, Jr. died in 2003 and was buried in Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors. The Vietnam War Memorial was re-established from Central Park to the Veterans Park in 2018. The memorial honors the seven Broken Arrow residents who were killed during the Vietnam War and those who sacrifice to protect the United States of America. A Women’s War Memorial, with eleven polished and etched black granite tablets with photographs and descriptions honoring women who served their country during the Revolutionary, Civil, Spanish American Wars, WWI, WWII, Vietnam War, Korean War, Desert Storm, and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Fishing Catch & Release - Oklahoma State Fishing License is required. No swimming, water craft of any type, and cast netting. Benches Fountain Veterans Memorial
