Description:The Church Studio, constructed in 1915, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In 1972, Oklahoma's native son, Leon Russell, purchased the building and turned it into a recording studio and home office for Shelter Records. Legends have spent time there, including Tom Petty, Eric Clapton, George Harrison, Willie Nelson, Stevie Wonder, Bob Seger, and The Gap Band. Today; the studio is open as a recording studio, tourist attraction, and music museum. As a legendary recording studio, the Church Studio blends the best in vintage and contemporary equipment, analog and digital recording methods, extraordinary acoustics, experienced technicians, and a legendary vibe to provide the best recording environment possible. Acoustically, it is one of the best-sounding rooms in America and suitably sized to record a solo artist or an orchestra. After a significant multi-million historic renovation completed in 2022, the Church Studio was outfitted with the finest vintage and modern recording equipment, microphones, and instruments. Boasting Daniel Lanois’ Neve 8068 recording console (used for albums by Bob Dylan, U2, and Willie Nelson), Neumann and Universal Audio microphones, and analog tape machines, the space is also equipped with lighting grids and gorgeous backdrops for video. The live room has a sophisticated lighting system ideal for filming. The room's dimensions are 46'-0" x 37'-8". There are a variety of different backdrops that showcase nicely for filming such as belfry, green room, live room, and gallery. The studio features a catering kitchen and shore power hookup for RV power.
