Description:Few places provide the peace and serenity found at the intimate 17-acre Sunset Lake in Thompson Park. Take a leisurely walk around the one-mile concrete trail that encircles the lake. Enjoy the plant life, the ducks and geese on the lake and the restful water. Fishing is a favorite pastime at the lake. Trout and catfish are abundant. Sunset Lake is the first municipally owned lake in Oklahoma to be continually stocked with fish. Picnic areas are abundant, including three large, covered pavilions suitable for reunions and large parties. An amphitheater is also available for outdoor entertainment. For the young at heart, there are paddle boats, an operating miniature train, ducks to be fed, soccer field, basketball court, disc golf course and playground equipment. On the west side of the lake, there is a handicapped-accessible dock.
