We're located in a former 1937 WPA built Oklahoma National Guard Armory building constructed of locally quarried sandstone. The outer walls of this grand building consist of hand-chiseled stone 20 inches thick. We offer an Audio Video Museum with six video stations of short films on all aspects of Route 66 and a cozy theater with a 20 minute documentary entitled, "Dick Besser's Route 66 Adventure." He discovered Route 66 in 1959 while traveling with a few of his college buddies and then traveled the Route again in 1999. This film shows the difference between the two trips. Each Visitor or group of Visitors will get a personal tour and history of the Armory building. We have Visitors from all across the United States as well as from over 30 different countries! They'll take off two to three weeks just to tour Route 66! We also rent out the former drill hall as an Event Center. It's a premier conference and event center between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. At 8,000 square feet, it features a professional sound system, performance stage and a catering kitchen. As a banquet venue it can accommodate up to 400 and is available for booking at reasonable rates. Many of our Visitors say that we have the best and cleanest restrooms on Route 66!
