Location ID: #10191672
The Kennedy Building is a three-story brick building with elements of Italian Renaissance Revival architecture, designed by Leon B. Senter. It was constructed in 1902, one of the oldest buildings in the downtown area.
The building is located on the southeast corner of 6th Street and Grand Avenue, across the street from the historic Muscogee Nation Council House. It has a canted entrance which once was the main entrance for the Okmulgee National Bank. The ground floor has a series of storefronts facing the west and north. The storefronts are divided by brick and concrete columns capped with limestone capitals. The businesses located in the Kennedy Building on the ground floor are Okmulgee Main Street, Red Stick Art Gallery, The Nail Room & Funky Blessings. The second & third floors are completely original with a breathtaking ballroom on the third floor.
