Pawnee is a city and county seat of Pawnee County, Oklahoma, United States. It was named for the Pawnee tribe, which was relocated to this area between 1873 and 1875. Downtown Pawnee is replete with century-old native stone buildings, unique shops and outstanding eateries such as Click's Steakhouse. Don't miss the well-appointed Pawnee County Historical Society Museum, with its special area devoted to Pawnee native Chester Gould, creator of the Dick Tracy comic strip.
