Bradford House

United States / OKLAHOMA CITY, Oklahoma
Location ID: #10179619

Surround yourself with the carefully curated, somewhat quirky treasures of days gone by while enjoying modern amenities and a staff that feel like your most interesting friend. Filled with décor sourced carefully from local and far-reaching markets, each guestroom is true labor of love evident in the comfortable, but refined luxury and thoughtful attention to detail.

Originally built in 1912 as luxury apartment homes of a bygone era, the Historic Home has been re-imagined and completely transformed into a full-service, independent boutique hotel through an incredibly delicate process, ensuring the building will retain its charm but also offer guests the accommodations, services, and amenities expected by modern travelers. No two rooms in the Historic Home are the same, offering a mix of suites and standards to appeal to a variety of tastes. Ranging in size from cozy to indulgently spacious, these guestrooms feature the soaring ceilings and romantic balconies of the original tile, mirror, and millwork details from 1912.

Inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s 1959 townhome cooperative at Detroit’s Lafayette Park, the Modern Guesthouse features contemporary design elements intended to reflect the character of the historic home rather than compete with it in size or scale. The beauty of the contrast allows guests to feel simultaneously rooted in character and enchanted by curiosity. A clever mix of oversized standards and snug bunk rooms, these guestrooms feature more modern finishes and furnishings which include custom built desks and wardrobes, thoughtfully mixed with vintage Scandinavian seating. The property’s urban garden and courtyard await just steps outside each room of the Modern Guesthouse. Inspired by the rugged yet refined gardens of Paris and Stockholm, this garden will grow to become an extension of the living spaces within the house. Perfect for events or just an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Common space areas include: the Drawing Room, the Lantern Room, lobby, café and bar. Each room, uniquely designed and shaped for different purposes, yet still a feast for the eyes, making for the perfect backdrop.
