Ranging in size from cozy to indulgently spacious, these guestrooms feature the soaring ceilings and romantic balconies of the original tile, mirror, and millwork details from 1912.

Inspired by Mies van der Rohe’s 1959 townhome cooperative at Detroit’s Lafayette Park, the Modern Guesthouse features contemporary design elements intended to reflect the character of the historic home rather than compete with it in size or scale. The beauty of the contrast allows guests to feel simultaneously rooted in character and enchanted by curiosity. A clever mix of oversized standards and snug bunk rooms, these guestrooms feature more modern finishes and furnishings which include custom built desks and wardrobes, thoughtfully mixed with vintage Scandinavian seating.
