Pittman Homestead

United States / LAWTON, Oklahoma
Location ID: #10151336

The Pittman Homestead is a 160-acre farm & ranch that has been owned and operated by three generations of the Pittman family. The homestead was originally acquired by Arthur Franklin (Tuck) Pittman (1878-1943) in the August 1901 Land Lottery covering parts of the southwest portion of what was then Oklahoma Territory. The Pittman Homestead is located in the eastern portion of Comanche County, Oklahoma. Most of these buildings on the homestead were constructed in the 1925-1930 time period, but have since been remodeled several times up to the present day. The Workshop was reconstructed in 1962 after a tornado destroyed the original two-story wooden barn. The remaining photos (figures 03 thru 30) show various views of the buildings and farm life on the homestead with annotations where needed.
