Community Features:
Route 66 runs through the heart of Chandler and downtown. Jerry McClanahan is a noted Route 66 author, artist, and historian who owns McJerry’s art gallery in town. Chandler has 19 properties listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Hiland Dairy has a processing plant here, which is only one of two in the state and is the largest employer in town. The Route 66 Interpretive Center is the former National Guard Armory, which was built in 1937. Chandler is known as the Official Hometown of the Oklahoma National Guard. Chandler has the Ioway Casino.
