We have the longest main street on Route 66 and visitors from all over the world comment on how nice and clean our downtown area is while they are here. Because we have nine tribes that headquarter in our county, we have a strong partnership with them in tourism projects.

The City of Miami is the county seat for Ottawa County. We have a Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Ace Hardware, and two grocery markets. We have a large amount of antique stores throughout the county. We have limited amounts of clothing options, but are only 20 minutes from Joplin, Missouri and Grove, Oklahoma and they both have options if things can't be found within Miami, Oklahoma.
