Community Features:
Located on the Chisholm Trail. Also one of four Land Run sites during the Cherokee Strip Land Run of 1893, the largest competitive event in US history. Think "Lonesome Dove" meets "Far and Away." The only remaining land office from any of the seven Oklahoma land runs stands inside Humphrey Heritage Village at the Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center. Lincoln assassin John Wilkes Booth may have escaped the barn in Virginia and committed suicide in Enid in 1903 using the alias David E. George. David Allen Memorial Ballpark is home to the NJCAA Div. II World Series. Oral Roberts began his ministry in Enid in 1947. Enid's Arts & Entertainment District (downtown) is one of seven Certified Cultural Districts in Oklahoma.

Cherokee Strip Regional Heritage Center - history museum that tells the story of the Cherokee Strip Land Run of 1893 and how this region has settled since that time. Leonardo's Children's Museum, hands-on arts & science museum. Railroad Museum of Oklahoma, over one million pieces of railroad memorabilia, yard with engines, cabooses, dining cars, etc. Woodring Wall of Honor, Oklahoma's official Vietnam War memorial, an 80-percent replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington DC. Simpson's Old Time Museum & Skeleton Creek Productions, nine Old West movie sets, six full-length family-friendly Westerns have been filmed here. Gaslight Theatre, 250-seat auditorium featuring nine dramas, comedies and musicals each year. Enid Symphony Center, home to Oklahoma's longest-running symphony orchestra.
