Meghan Buchanan is an Oklahoma based Art Director and Scenic Artist. Meghan moved from New York to Oklahoma in 2013. She worked as the Properties Supervisor at the University of Oklahoma, and taught classes such as Stagecraft, Props, Advanced Materials, and History of Interior Decor. In 2018, she began working as the Scenic Artist at Oklahoma City University and the Scenic Designer for the Oklahoma Childrens Theater. At OCU, Meghan taught Scenic Painting and Drawing and Rendering classes. In 2021, she made the decision to shift her career toward the growing Oklahoma Film industry. Since, she has worked on American Underdog, Rez Dogs, Reagan, Nefarious, The Line, and Tulsa King. Prior to her move to Oklahoma, Meghan co-founded the New York based Paper Mache Monkey Art and Design Studio and was a member of the Tony award winning Scenic Design team for Peter and the Starcatcher. With PMM, Meghan designed and built set pieces, props, and puppets for theater and television shows such as the Broadway productions of Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson and the Merchant of Venice, The Explorers Club at MTC, Saturday Night Live, and Billy on the Street. Meghan has worked as the Prop Master for the Public Theater, Williamstown Theater Festival and the Actors Studio. Meghan had a BFA in Scenic and Costume Design from the University of Oklahoma.
