It all started when a producer for lifetime movies walked into flix brewhouse. He was asking for free DGA tickets and I didn't know what that was. He told me he was making a movie down the road and had a break, wanted to see a movie, but didn't want to pay for it. I asked if he was hiring. Thus began my foray into film and television. Since then I have been able to pay my rent working in film and tv. I've always had odd jobs, parking ticket processor, clerical substitute at a school district, fry cook, vacuum salesman. Nothing ever seemed to fit, although rent was always due. I was always good at getting jobs, it was staying at places that eluded me. I had been at the movie theater for all of three weeks before i jumped over to "A Baby at Any Cost", a movie with a storied production that put me through a tougher wringer than I had ever experienced. Every day I am grateful for that first experience. It was a true test. Having no experience with working in the industry, I was informed day 1 by a fellow PA "They will always ask more of you than you can give, don't ever sit down, and don't worry about it too much, do your best". Everything since kind of blurs together, I somehow have stitched together enough work to continue to somehow stitching together enough work. Thanks for reading.
Having mostly filled PA and Locations positions, I am not afraid to knock on a door. I'd like to think I have excellent interpersonal skills, especially with strangers. When people ask me what I do, I tell them "Mostly tables and chairs, garbage and parking" I believe my wide range of job and travel experience lets me take on whatever is presented to me.
