My lifelong goal has been to work in the film industry. I have spent the last six years studying movies, two years at CV Tech, two years at OCCC and two years at the University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma graduating in April 2024. I graduated from each institution with honors and worked hard to learn all I could about how to tell stories through movies. I am now looking to use the knowledge I gained and to receive more experience. My highlight so far was when Mayor David Holt shared my Oklahoma City movie clip real which went viral. My favorite move is The Shawshank Redemption. The direction had me involved from the start and as the film continued, I started to resonate with the film’s main character Andy Dufresne. Even with all his struggles, Andy was always optimistic. I guess at the time, that optimistic aspect of Andy’s character appealed to me, so I of course wanted him to succeed. Being autistic, I sometimes struggle to fit in and it’s hard to remain positive. I think that is why Shawshank still resonates with me. It tells you that there are troubles in the world that you have cannot control, but what you can control is how you deal with them. I think I would still consider it my favorite movie. Other movies that have impacted me are Sunset Boulevard, The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly, Airplane, North by Northwest, Seven Samurai, Some of my favorite directors include Steven Spielberg, Alfred Hitchcock, Billy Wilder, David Lean, and the Coen Brothers.
