Late Night Messages is an Eclectic Indie Pop Band based in Oklahoma City
Plaza District Festival (2025)
At the rare intersection of Oklahoma City’s burgeoning indie scene and contemporary Latino multiculturalismo, Late Night Messages carves space for genuine connection through honest music. By shaking up an eclectic cocktail of genre—Latin pop, alt-rock, J-pop, chillhop—principal singer-songwriter Jonathan Martinez serves many points of welcome to his musical lounge. Late Night Messages, in keeping with influences like Cuco and Tame Impala, is a dream born of humble bedroom studio origins and manifested in fan-direct community. Now a six-piece band, Late Night Messages has blossomed in sound and scope to bring fuller energy to the studio and the stage. Joining Martinez are: Merari Cruz Padilla (keys, percussion, vocals); Elias Dominguez (guitar); Mike Manning (2nd guitar); Israel Parada (bass); and Pedro Pérez (drums). Together, they breathe dynamic life into the diverse Late Night Messages vision, each setlist and tracklist executed with cultural homages, tonal arcs, and stories of perpetual self-discovery.– Jarvix, Make Oklahoma Weirder
